About

201008 Michele Freeman 1322

I enjoy writing about class, people and place, and I enjoy creative expression in a variety of forms. The stories you can find here are presented as radio documentaries, fiction, non-fiction and recorded oral histories.

Most of the stories on this site are about the people and places around me, social and cultural politics, music, and documenting the human experience. I am inspired by the idea that stories play a fundamental role in understanding, and responding to, ourselves, and those around us.

I previously worked in the non-profit sector for over ten years on a range of social justice campaigns and community development issues, and I enjoy combining my community development background with my love of storytelling and creative digital media.
